Heritage Conversations Workshop On July 10, 2014, three members of the Victoria Heritage Foundation’s Education Committee presented an event at the Maritime Museum. We spent several weeks planning the event which we intended to be an information session for people wondering about Victoria’s heritage, old structures, and local municipal policies and organizations. We advertised mostly electronically in hoped of drawing in a new demographic of interested people and served refreshements in the historic courtroom in the Martime Museum.
Fernfest Tour On June 20, 2014, I led a tour for the Fernwood NRG’s event, Fernfest. I researched and put together this tour with the idea of presenting aspects of the history of the neighbourhood that had not been presented before. I used the Royal BC Archives collections to get a sense of the which hitorical elements could still be seen in the neghbourhood, such as the gravel pits that is now William Stevenson Park, Victoria High School and ground, several beautiful designated hertiage houses and the lay of the land.
